They have chosen the Sony Vaio VPCZ114GX/S as the best on the market at the minute for weight. It is "blisteringly" fast while being a "breeze" to carry. If weight isn't your concern though and you want more speed, then they have chosen the Alienware M17x as the best for gaming. Of the mainstream laptops, the best for multimedia is apparently the Samsung R580-JSB1US which comes with an Intel Core i5-430M processor, while the best for price is the Asus U30JC-A1.

2011 APRIL news about laptops:
* Toshiba has announced a new line of Tecra and Portege business-class notebooks featuring the latest Intel processors and a battery life of up to 11 hours.
* Fujitsu has released four new notebooks into the LifeBook lineage, including the LifeBook NH751 desktop replacement, E751 business notebook, S751 notebook, and the P771 ultraportable. All of the notebooks either offer or come built with Intel Core i7 CPUs (including the ultraportable).
* AMD has announced it has begun shipping its 32nm quad-core APU, which combines a processor and a graphics card into one chip.
